Ventura pier is my favorite location to shoot at! When my dear friend Alyssa had reached out to me to schedule a maternity session she wanted both woodsy and beachy. We had decided on shooting at Foster Park but unfortunately due to Rona we had to go with the beach for the whole session. Ventura Pier has this patch of trees that makes it look like a forest it’s so beautiful right before sunset.
Maternity photography is so beautiful since I was pregnant it held a special place in my heart, probably because I didn’t get to take some while I was pregnant. Alyssa and Phil were so amazing to work with! I hadn’t seen Alyssa in person in over 10 years I can’t believe it’s been that long, it was our graduation day the last time I saw her in person. You have to love social media it’s the best way to stay in contact. They drove over 2 hours to have me capture this special moment.
One of the biggest honors is capturing memories for friends, they are trusting you with such a special moment….
When we arrived it was so darn hot (were in the middle of a heatwave, not to mention the fires happening just an hour away from us. Alyssa chose two beautiful dresses for this session a beautiful blue she purchased off of amazon along with an all-white dress that was open in the middle. She looked so beautiful in both dresses and she’s all belly! We had such a fun time Phil wanted to capture some fun ones for himself so we had to make sure to get those! They also wanted to remember the times we are in right now, so we put a mask over her belly for baby Ezekiels protection. Shortly after this session, Alyssa notified me she was having contractions the prince should be making his appearance any moment now.
